Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ will host the Booker T. Washington Economic Development Summit (BTW Summit) on October 23–25, 2025, continuing its commitment to advancing the legacy of Dr. Booker T. Washington through innovation, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment. The Summit brings together business leaders, educators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to foster economic growth across rural and urban communities through collaboration, investment, and education.
“Building Generational Wealth through Innovation, Education, and Community.” - This year’s theme celebrates economic empowerment and sustainable development while spotlighting pathways for emerging entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community leaders to create lasting impact.

Over three days, participants will engage in keynote sessions, business development panels, and interactive workshops focused on:
• Entrepreneurship, business financing, and cooperative economics
• Workforce development and small business acceleration
• Technology, digital infrastructure, and AI for economic growth
• Sustainable agriculture and community resilience
• Youth leadership, innovation, and creative economy development
The Summit also includes networking receptions, pitch competitions, and an awards gala honoring outstanding leaders in economic development and social impact.
The Summit is coordinated by the Carver Integrative Sustainability Center (CISC) and the College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences (CAENS), in partnership with local, regional, and national organizations. Together, these partners advance Booker T. Washington’s philosophy of self-help and cooperative progress through entrepreneurship and education.
Each year, the BTW Summit features influential leaders from government, business, academia, and the nonprofit sector. Previous participants have included policymakers, investors, and community advocates working to empower Black and minority-owned enterprises while strengthening local economies.
